Warm weather is just around the corner and with warm weather comes the flies. Flies become a chained or penned dog's worst nightmare aside from the terrible heat. These pests are attracted by the feces that is not cleaned up around the dog's living area and they start to eat away at the dog's ears, eye lids, tails and legs. While on outreach we try to provide relief to these dogs by hanging catching fly bags and putting fly repelling ointment on their ears and other affected areas. We educate the owner on keeping the feces picked up and apply the fly ointment daily. We go through thousands of dollars worth of the ointment and catching bags every spring and summer.
